Cheap versus expensive dolls - which is best?

Doll Expertise Doll Advice

The differences between dolls of different makers, designers, materials and periods of time can be, and often are, numerous. But, any doll you love, and take care of, can keep you happy for a long time. It takes a commitment and all dolls need maintenance and care. For this article, I’ll focus on cheap vs expensive dolls, and my experiences with both.

NOTE TO READER: when I say cheap dolls, I mean the dolls that are, in fact, made as inexpensive alternative dolls. I’m NOT referring to dolls on some sketchy re-seller website claiming to sell silicone 160 dolls for $800USD. I’m talking about economy brands and models, like RealToyz or Piper Eco.

I’ll start by saying that a well-made doll vs a defective or damaged doll is a different topic that I won’t cover in this post. I’ll only say, my greatest regret and sadness of my doll journey is that I got Mikasa, my 150 TPE Piper Doll Eirian, early on, before I knew how to properly care for her. I still have her, and I’ll never replace her. Her joints are loose, her vagina is damaged and her finger wires were never really solid. Piper Dolls are excellent, and all the others I have are several years old and still like new, other than worn-off makeup and a couple minor repairs. But my poor Mikasa paid the price for my inexperience. I love her deeply, and hug and kiss her every day. For this post, however, I’ll just talk about doll variety and what you can expect day-to-day with different doll types.

The most inexpensive doll I’ve had, is the RealToyz TPE Reena. Here she is - she’s cute as a button.

The most expensive doll I’ve had, so far, is Irokebijn Kasumi. Here she is, sexy as fuck.

Both dolls above violate my early ideas about dolls. For that matter, so do Phoebe (my Piper Elf), Irokebijin Mary and Abby (my 98cm anime dolls) and Sayaka. Originally, like many others on the doll journey I imagine, I just expected a doll to look like a real woman. Not like a cartoon, a fairy tale or under 100cms.

But, my experiences with these dolls has opened my mind a lot to variety in dolls. And, they serve as a reminder, that a doll doesn’t have to represent a real woman. She just has to be a doll you want to fuck, for whatever reason.

Inexpensive dolls, like Reena, don’t have the features a more expensive doll like Kasumi has - gel breasts, evo skeleton or weight reduction - and Reena is quite a bit heavier that my other small dolls. Her sex openings aren’t as well positioned, her makeup is much simpler and there’s less sculpting to her form. These are both aesthetic and tactile differences. She can’t be posed as easily with the same variety and nuance of position as Kasumi. Reena’s TPE isn’t the same quality as Phoebe’s or Sayaka’s TPE. She doesn’t have the options like a textured, or removable vagina. Her joints are not consistent in tension, she’s more prone to damage, needs more care…

Sounds like I don’t like Reena. That’s true. I love Reena. She’s just not the same as Kasumi. Kasumi’s silicone is very soft, her design is spectacular and she’s such a uniquely amazing doll. There’s almost no limit to how close-to-human she can look when posed carefully, despite her anime appearance. I can barely pass her without hugging and kissing her, with that cute face and hilarious grin. She’s a work of art.

But so is Reena.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it many more times - the right doll for you, is the one you really want to fuck. If you’re on a budget and really want a doll, it’s true, your options are more limited. But not zero. Reena is just as much fun to fuck as Kasumi. Once you’ve posed your doll for sex you’ll quickly forget what her features are or how much you paid for her, if you’re really hot for her. Expensive or cheap, every doll needs maintenance and attention to keep her healthy and ready for fun. A cheaper doll is a little harder to keep clean and has to be stored more carefully, but can be just as much fun as an expensive doll. So far, with no exceptions I can remember, each doll I’ve fucked, cheap or expensive, has been equally fun. If you love and care for your doll, whichever doll, she will love and care for you back. She just needs a lot of help from you to do it.
